K is for Kites….

This past week we learned the letters J and K in Phonics. For the letter J we painted J’s with “Jello” (but Mrs. Messner forgot her camera). We learned that “J says J as in jar” and we added lots of J words to our list of words we are reading. (like jab, job, jog, jug, jam and Jim) 

Then we learned about the letter K. It has a cool rule that goes along with it. “K goes with i and e, C goes with the other three, a, o and u.”  We also made kites to remind us that “K says K as in kite”.
