We all enjoyed a day out of school on Monday, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. An extra long weekend is always nice. So our week started on Tuesday, which really confused Mrs. Messner. She kept thinking it was Monday and even had us put up the date on our calendar for Monday during our Morning Meeting time. Ha! Ha! It was mid-morning before she realized her mistake. Oh well, we all laughed together about it.
Math Class
This week we did “story problems” that were-“some, some more, some went away”. Here we are using the teddy bears. We pretended they were at a circus. Some went to get popcorn, and some went to the bathroom. Then some came back…

Can Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
Our school is collecting the tabs from cans for Ronald McDonald Houses. Each classroom has a little cardboard house to collect the tabs in. Wednesday, Travis surprised us all by bringing in a HUGE supply of tabs his mom had collected from her work. We appreciate it so much!!

The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf
We made pig and wolf masks this week to use in our Language Enrichment time as we acted out the story of the “Three Little Pigs and the Big, Bad Wolf” We had so much fun! First, Mrs. Messner read to us the silly story called “The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig”. It was backwards to the original story, but we loved the silly twist! Then the next day she told us the regular story of the three little pigs. Afterwards, we each put on our pig masks and she borrowed one of our wolf masks. We each got in a special spot in our room and Mrs. Messner pretended to be the wolf. It was so funny. We could hardly sit still we were giggling so hard at her. She really looked funny in the wolf mask. We all loved it so much that we each begged to have a turn at being the wolf. Here are some pictures of us doing the skit. We loved it so much in fact that some of us wore our masks to lunch, playtime, and preschool, then again the next two mornings we wore them back to school. ha! ha!
