Five Senses
This past week we began our Science curriculum, called “God's World”. The children are so excited because they each have their own books and they are so fun to look through.
We start our study learning about the five senses. This week we have covered sight and smell.
I brought in several “strong smelling” items, and blind folded the children one by one to see if they could identify the item using their sense of smell. They were very good at this!
A couple of the kids unfortunately have colds right now and were not able to smell anything. Thus we had a lesson on how colds affect our senses.
Katelynn smells pickle juice! (Karli begged to drink it!!
)
Karli smells an onion.
Matthew smells perfume. (He thought it was a candle)
Jerrel smells a berry candle
Zachary smells an orange peeling.
The children were so excited to get to do this experiment. Next week, we get to use our sense of taste and touch while being blindfolded.
