What’s Been Happening in Kindergarten?

I apologize to my Kinder parents for the delay in posting new pictures. These past couple of weeks have been so busy for me on the weekends! Last weekend we had Fall Break and our teachers all got to go to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for a Teacher’s Convention. Then this past weekend my family took a trip to north Georgia for a long weekend get away.

So today I hope to get caught up on what we’ve been doing in K5 the past 2 weeks.

In Phonics, we are starting to read!! Yes! That is right. We have not yet learned all of the consonants, but with what we have learned along with the vowels, we put those together to make blends. Now we have started adding “final consonants” to make words. The kids are so excited and are doing a great job.

These are called “Blend Ladders”. We read them going up and down. We really like to sing silly, and “grow” while going up and down the ladders.

The children really enjoyed making their letters in shaving cream! Our room smelled so nice afterwards, and our desks were really clean!! Open-mouthed smile

These boys and girls are such hard workers!! They really want their papers to look nice, no matter what they are doing. I am so proud of them!
