Learning about the Netherlands

We are studying different countries in Social Studies. I have a friend who found some wooden shoes called “klompen” in the Netherlands. They are adult sized so the kids can all try them on and walk around (or try to) in them. They loved doing that!

Morning Meeting Song

Each month we learn a new song about that month. January teaches us that it starts the new year and that Martin Luther King has a birthday in this month. It also reminds us that there are 12 months in a year. The kids love the music for this month, it has a banjo in it and really gets your foot a-tapping! Smile

I had a terrible time trying to get everyone in on this picture! Ha! ha!

Everyone got to take part in pouring part of the liquid in the big bottle. That was so cool to them. Smile

They are good little measurers…is that a word? Anyway, they did very well identifying the terms for one-half full, full, and empty.
