Learning to Compare Numbers

The last two weeks have been a bear! We’ve had many delayed openings due to extreme cold weather and ice/snow and we have missed several days in the middle of the week due to snow/ice. While it is so fun to sleep in and to miss school, it is so hard to get everything done when this happens. But we’ve made the best of it and I’ve got a great group of kids that seem to adapt well for the most part.

Last week we played “war” using a regular deck of cards. This games teaches the children to compare numbers and learn to choose the “larger” number.

We paired up and played a couple of rounds with our partner.

The kids had a blast! (Notice their “silly socks”. I  forgot to take a group shot. Sad smile It was silly sock day)

Rolling Number Words

We took turns rolling a cube with the number words on it.

They are doing a great job learning the number words 1-10
