Matching Numbers and Number Words

Today we played a fun game, matching bees with numbers on them to the flower with the corresponding number word.

Practicing Our Money Skills

We are also learning different coins. We recently have been working on identifying and counting nickels. Each morning as part of our morning meeting we have money on the board and someone gets to go up and write the correct amount. Sometimes it is pennies or dimes as well.

Exploring Tangrams

Today we played with a new math material called “tangrams”. There are 7 shapes in a set and they will fit together in different ways. Tomorrow we will try making pictures with them that someone else has designed. This really helps children think outside the box! I can’t wait to see how they do.
