Our first day was soooo fun!

We were introduced to a new math material called “Teddy Bear Counters”. They are fun to play with and we can’t wait to use them again during our Math time.

The Hunt for Curious George

Mrs. Messner took us on a scavenger hunt to look for Curious George. We heard that he was going to live in our classroom this year, but we hadn’t seen him yet, so we decided to go around the school and look for him.

Our first stop was in our old classroom-the PreSchool Building. We asked Mrs. Angela and Miss Shelby if they had seen George…

Mrs Angela told us they had not seen him, but that he had been there because he had left us a banana.

Mrs. Angela also told us how we would come into “extended care” in the afternoons for nap.

Time to keep looking for George….

Next we stopped the office and met Miss Lisette and Mrs. Green (see her peeking out her office window at us?).

They had not seen George, but he had been there and left us a coloring sheet of himself. We also found out that the office is where we sometimes would deliver notes for Mrs. Messner and if we had a boo-boo or got sick, we could go there for a Band-Aid or medicine. They are both very nice and work very hard!

Mrs. Messner took us to Mr. Hedstrom’s office next to see if he had seen George. Unfortunately, Mr. Hedstrom was in a High School class so we didn’t get to meet him, but we looked around his office a little bit. We found a picture of “the man with a yellow hat” on his desk. We suspect Curious George left it there for us. (Mr. Hedstrom stopped by our class later to say hi to us.)

The lunch room was our next spot to visit. We saw where we would eat lunch each day. This year we will eat lunch with the Big kids!! How exciting!! Guess what George left us this time? A book called “Curious George Goes to School.” Yay! Mrs. Messner said she will read it to us when we get back to the classroom.

We had one more stop to make. Surely this time we will find George.

Yep! George was in the Library!! He wanted us to take him back to our classroom to stay.

We all loved giving George a hug!

The library will be fun to visit. Mrs. Messner said she would take us there every Tuesday. She will let us check out one book each week. We will take very good care of our books!
When we got back to the room, George went to sit on our book shelf. He is very happy living among the books. We then ate the banana he left us, colored the coloring sheet and listened to the book he left us.
