Snow Day!

We finally received a little bit of snow earlier this month! Yay for us! If you’re not from around here you won’t understand this a bit, but in Alabama, even the mention of a possibility of snow is cause for celebration! Then IF we actually get snow…well, you can count on EXCITEMENT from children of all ages!

A few weeks ago, the weather man told us we might get snow in the afternoon. I didn’t say too much about it for fear of disappointing the children. But sure enough, the snow came in, and we got out of school early. (another advantage of living in the south! If we get even a “dusting” we cancel school! Ha!)

I was able to get some pictures of two of my students playing in the “snow” before they went home. Eliana had left a little bit earlier.

Watching the first few flakes fall…

(see the gel clings on our door? “Let It Snow!” Smile)

Why do kids always stick their tongues out when it snows?

Trying to catch a falling snowflake or two…

There’s the tongue again…Smile

“I think a snowflake got in my eye!”

Here are a few pictures of the 1st and 2nd graders that came out to play in the “snow” also.

Filling out weather journals for the week…

It was so fun to be able to mark our snow day! What a fun week!
