Today we explored teddy bear counters during our Morning Meeting then did a worksheet that went along with our lesson. We are also learning to “sky write” the numbers 1-5 this week.
On Tuesday, we also went on a school tour while looking for “Clifford’s Bone”. We visited lots of important places in our school and at the same time, asked if anyone had seen Clifford’s bone. We found clues and lots of dog toys along the way, but no bone.
When we got back to the room, low and behold! there was his bone the whole time! The kids were so surprised. They also found out that Mrs. Messner had surprised them with brownie bones for their snack. Yum!!
Wednesday we had our “Kick off Chapel” for the school year.
Mrs. Angela (Our Preschool Director) led the chapel for us. We found out that we are going to learn lots of new songs and were reminded how we are to act in chapel. We all really enjoyed it!
Exploring pattern blocks
Such adorable faces!
We learned about the letter “I” an the sound it makes. Then colored a picture of Capital I and little i.
We also learned how to write little i. We will have lots more practice days ahead. We colored a picture of an iguana on the back of our “I” paper.
At the end of our busy morning, we worked on following movement directions while playing a “doghouse” game.
Afterwards we had free play with Mrs. Messner’s beanie pups.
Such a fun day!
Today Kayla came up and led our class rules! These kids are really starting to “get them”! Yay!
Learning about “same and different”
Playing a game called “toss the beanie puppy in the bucket” (yes, I made it up). The kids loved it and each got to take lots of turns.
Since we finished our work a little early today, we also got to play “Doggy Doggy Who’s Got Your Bone?” Such a fun game. Each child got to be the “doggy” (which is why they are facing the corner) while another child hid the bone in their desk. The doggy then had to guess who had the bone.
It was so fun!
The students earned over 100 points on the Dojo board this week so as a reward they each got to keep a dojo monster on their desk for the day.
On Friday, the kids get to start the morning by coloring in the Character Development coloring books on the floor.
Corbin leading the class rules
Practicing sorting “same and different” again
Puppy Parade!
Puppy Dog Show (and Tell)
It was so fun hearing and seeing what these puppies can do, and what they like to eat (so similar to what the kids like to eat sometimes
). What a fun time getting to know these kids a little better. It’s been a great week! I love my little pups!
These pictures are just precious! Thanks for doing this! -Krista
